Welcome to our Year 3 class page!
We have quickly settled into our new class and are looking forward to all the new challenges and experiences that our first year in the Junior Department at Tycroes Primary School brings us.
We are currently working on writing our own short stories using Grant Slatter's 'Oddies' series of books as inspiration. If you would like to learn more about Oddies and Oddieworld, please click on the link in our useful websites page.
In Mathematics we are busy developing our understanding of place value, number sequences and addition.
In Science we will be learning all about classification, the seven life processes and all about plants.
In P.E. we will be taking part in outdoor activities every Monday. Pupils will require a P.E. kit suitable for being outside. We will also be swimming this term, please refer to the timetable for dates and times.
In Music we will be learning to play the recorder. These lessons will be undertaken on a Wednesday. Please could you ensure that your child brings their recorder to school in order to participate in these lessons.
- Year 3 children will be given homework to complete on Tuesday and Friday.
- Regular reading sessions at home with your child help improve fluency and intonation.
- Reading record books are provided so that you as parents can either comment on your child's reading or sign to indicate that you have shared a reading sessions together.
